Thanksgiving season encourages us to appreciate many things in our lives. But did you know that regularly practicing gratitude can actually improve your health? Developing a grateful mindset is a potent tool against anxiety and depression, and the myriad of diseases these states bring on. Mindfulness, and gratitude in particular, boosts the brain's production of dopamine (the neurotransmitter of reward and pleasure) and serotonin (the neurotransmitter of calm, focus and happiness). Gratitude practices have been shown to regulate stress, reduce anxiety and depression, improve sleep, strengthen the immune response, reduce pain, and can even change our brains to recognize and accept joy and be in the present moment more readily.
In this workshop, our meditation teacher Jill Tonachio will share meditation strategies that promote the habit of mindful gratitude and guide you through an enlightening meditation experience.
To maintain the intended atmosphere and focus on wellness, we kindly request that all participants be aged 13 and older.
